ISO 4531 describes methods of test and limits of release from enamelled articles in contact with food.
The second version of this standard, which was published in 2022, is expected to be replaced by ISO/DIS 4531 in the coming months.
This third edition, which is currently under development, cancels and replaces the second edition (ISO 4531:2022), which has been technically revised.
The main changes are as follows:
- a definition of a drinking rim has been added.
- a test procedure for a drinking rim has been added.
- a test procedure for a lid has been added when a different enamel is used for the lid.
- two new reagents have been added.
