Emergency services arrived on site at Pemco in Bruges on Monday afternoon around 12.30 pm.
A machine in a lab turned out to be defective and quickly caused a lot of smoke development.
The concerned room was hermetically sealed by the company.
The fire brigade checked the laboratory, after which everyone was able to return.
There was never a serious fire according to local newspapers.
