Gun spitting

Gun spitting is a possible cause for lumps at powder enameling plants.

Example of lumps

Possible reasons for gun spitting or puffing are :

  • Poor powder fluidization
  • Too low atomizing air pressure
  • Too long powder hoses
  • Damp powder
  • Powder buildup on gun tip
  • Irregular reciprocator movements
